About

What made you decide to enroll at the University of Maryland?
I was looking for universities specifically located in Maryland. I chose UMD out of all my options because my mother works here and often sings praises about the professors and connections at UMD. I also wanted a nice campus experience so I opted for a big campus. The majors offered also caught my attention.

What major/career path do you plan on pursuing and how did you select that path?
I plan on majoring in family science. I chose this major due to the wide avenue of opportunities it offers after college. I'm still deciding if I should pursue family law or social work as my career path. I just know for sure that I would love to work with children and this major gives me the ability to do what I love.

Activities I do outside of class or community service/volunteer activities I'm involved with:
Outside of class, I do a lot of volunteer work. I volunteer at my local library mostly helping organize and clean up as I love the library and love to see it looked after. Most recently I have volunteered at a PG Parks Summer Camp program where I work with children ages 6-12 over the course of the summer.

Aside from academics, what else do you hope to take away from your time at Maryland?
I hope to make a lot of new friends with my fellow students and professors, and I hope to have some memorable moments in and out of the classroom.

What are your future goals after graduation?
I hope to find a nice and well-paying job after I graduate, one that will allow me to live in comfort. I also hope to successfully pay off my car and be debt-free as an adult.
